While not one of our larger projects, this circular flagstone patio area demonstrates the craftsman ship that we put into each of our landscaping jobs. The area is large enough to accommodate a small table and a couple of chairs. There are also stones off to the side which could be used for a planter.
Looking closely at the flagstone, you’ll notice that the seams between the flagstone are very small. We take great pride in making very precise cuts to ensure that the pieces fit together almost perfectly – like a jigsaw puzzle. We like to make the seams as small as possible in order for the flagstone to be the focal point.
No Mortar - Polymeric Sand
We also didn’t use mortar for this project. Instead, we used polymeric sand, which has the advantage of not bulging up and chipping away like mortar. The polymeric sand hardens like concrete and stays in place – which reduces overall maintenance of the patio area.
