History

Denver was named in 1858 after then-governor James W. Denver by General William Larimer, hoping it would be selected to be the county seat of Arapahoe County. Though the county seat wasn’t given to Denver till 1861, Denver remains Colorado’s capital today.

There are many options when it comes to schools in Denver. It has 18 different school districts with 92 elementary schools, 34 middle schools, and 44 high schools. They have many different options for higher education too.

Housing in Denver

Most homes in Denver are called “Traditional,” built during the Second World War. What’s unique about this style is it is built on more land than most houses, standing on about 1/5 of an acre. Traditional houses are said to be the most affordable, even though bungalows are faster-selling. The median price of houses in Denver that are currently listed is $442,700.
